The Financial Education services of the Office of Resilience and Community Services at LouisvilleKY.gov can assist you in learning more about certain financial topics you might be struggling with or in achieving a better understanding of your own personal finances. There are classes and workshops in the community to help you with managing your money,
Start Fresh Workshop The Start Fresh! workshop created by Bank On Louisville is especially designed for those in the community looking for a second-chance bank account and a way back into the banking system. This two-hour workshop covers the basics of how to manage your bank account and money management in general while providing you with a wealth of resources on making decisions concerning where to bank and how to save your money. Classes are offered once each month at the Louisville Urban League and interested persons can contact the League’s Center for Housing and Financial Empowerment at 502.566.3362 to enroll in the free program. The Louisville Urban League in Partnership with Bank on Louisville helps people return to banking with the Start Fresh program. This is a program for persons who have been denied new accounts due to negative (non-fraud) banking histories, and who are willing to participate in a certified financial education program. After completing the program, participants will understand the basics of bank reconciliation and understanding how their account works so that they have the opportunity to re-enter the traditional banking system the smart way.
