The Living Room

The Living Room is a voluntary, peer-operated, safe and calming space for adults (18yrs+) in mental health and/or substance abuse crisis. We are open to the public 24 hours a day. Guests can stay with us up to 23 hours to stabilize their crisis.
The Adult Crisis Clinic is located in The Living Room and is available for crisis assessments Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The Living Room staff supports all crisis guests as they wait for assessment if needed. Services Provided in The Living Room: • Peer support (persons with lived experience who have a mental illness or substance use disorder). • Referrals to community resources and treatment programs. • Health and vital checks. • Potential transportation to and from The Living Room. The MORE center treats those suffering from opioid addictions such as heroin, hydrocodone, oxycodone, and other similar drugs. They provide you with both medication and counselling. The Medical Director and nursing staff establishes with you a stabilizing, daily dose of methadone to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

When you know you need – or have been told you need – an inpatient substance or alcohol use and addiction treatment facility, this Metro United Way Inpatient Services web page has a full list of all the service providers in the Louisville and southern Indiana area. The list has locations for each facility with phone numbers to call. If you are having trouble getting help, please ask your mentor, doctor, therapist or counselor for help with finding a facility. |
